is open to 10th graders through senior adults. Members sing at the 10:00 am Liturgy on most Sundays of the month. They also prepare music for services during Holy Week, Easter and on Christmas Eve. Beginning in Advent, Canterbury Choir move s rehearsal to Tuesdays (November 24)
rehearses each Tuesday from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm and is open to musicians of any age as space permits. The choir begins anew on November 3, under the direction of Michael Sanchez. Please note: the Choir moves through literature pretty quickly, and while previous handbell experience isn’t necessary, the ability to read music is important.
is open to children 4 years old through 8th grade. One for younger children (age 4-7ish) and
another for older (age 8-12ish). Jane Mendenhall directs the older kids, while Kari Liebert directs the cherubs. Both directors teach music in the public schools and bring a rich expertise to Christ Church. The choir meets Tuesdays 5.30 pm –6:45 pm across the year, we hope to provide 4 terms of Children’s Choirs (two in the fall, and one each in winter and spring). This should allow children with seasonal conflicts (such as athletics) to participate even if they can’t make a commitment to the entire year. Children’s’ Choirs begin on November 3 (in preparation for Christmas Eve). Previous singing experience is not required for children to participate. By rehearsing the Handbell Choir at the same time as the Children’s Choir, we hope that some parents might be able to ring while their little ones sing. In addition to preparing music for worship, children will also be instructed in rudiments of musicianship.
