Naomi was born in Kumamoto, Japan and adopted by her missionary parents at nine months old. She spent the first 12 years of her life in Japan, attending public schools through 3rd grade and then switching to an international school for two years before moving to the States in 1994.
She attended middle school and high school in Arlington, WA and majored in Christian Education at Trinity Lutheran College in Issaquah, WA. Church ministry has been her career path for the last 13 years, serving in parishes in WA and OR as a Christian Education Director or Youth Minister.
Youth Ministry is her joy and passion, and she cannot imagine doing anything else! She has been blessed to work with amazing children and youth over the years, and continues to be inspired by their challenging questions about faith and their understanding of who God is in their life.
Naomi has two little boys who she adores and cherishes. The boys are complete opposites but best buds for life! In her spare time, Naomi enjoys watching cooking shows (even though she does not like to cook), spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, and curled up reading a book.
