Lent: Meeting Jesus

Come meet Jesus! During Lent
this year, Christ Church will gather on Wednesdays from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in Cummins Hall where we will “eat, share, pray.”

As the backdrop for our time together, we will join others around the country in study and prayer of the words of John the Evangelist from The Gospel According to John and First Letter of John. These two texts describe how God, out of deep love, sends Jesus into the world to live among us. By learning from Jesus and his teachings about God, we will discover God as One who longs for deep intimacy with each of us.

The program is designed with two main components: our gatherings on Wednesday nights and daily reflections sent via email from the monks of the Society of St. John the Evangelist (SSJE). These religious men are an Anglican order of monks who live in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Each day during Lent, you will receive an email with a short video and reflection from one of the Brothers. To sign-up for the daily emails, please visit www.meetingjesusinjohn.org You can also download and print a daily journal from this website, or you can purchase a hard copy from Amazon or from the Parish Office.

We understand that participation may vary from week to week. Feel free to come on Wednesdays having reflected all week, or having not reflected at all.
