Refugee Care

On Common Ground: Connecting with Refugee Neighbors

ATTENTION CHRIST CHURCH PARISHIONERS!  The PENTECOST PUSH challenge has begun!
Please grab a restart kit list in the narthex or click here [Restart Kits for PRSG] and let’s see how many kits we can build by May 28th.  Gift cards from Winco, Walmart, Costco, Fred Meyer, or the Dollar Store are also needed.  Our partners at Portland Refugee Support Group have over 500 clients that need our help.  Contact Meg Knopf at 510-333-9499, or megknopf139@gmail.com with questions.  Please bring your restart kit to the church office.  We can pick up your kits or cards if you are unable to bring them to the church.  Let’s put the energy of the Holy Spirit to work.  Many blessings and thank you!

On Common Ground – Our Mission: We mobilize the gifts, resources and networks of Christ Church Parish to build community with and support our many refugee neighbors as they make a new home among us.  We accomplish our mission through a partnership with Portland Refugee Support Group, located in nearby SW Portland.  See their website at https://www.pdxrsg.org for information.

Do you have furniture to donate?  The CCEP-OCG committee is unable to coordinate furniture donations.  PRSG may or may not be able to accept furniture donations, you should contact them directly and they will let you know.  Below is a list of some good resources used by refugee-supporting organizations if you have furniture to donate (unfortunately most organizations are not able to pick up donated furniture. Several local hauling companies will pick up and deliver items for charity at a reasonable cost):
